Generating Electricity While Working Out in this Eco-Friendly Gym

You may go to the gym to lose weight or gain muscle, but have you ever gone to the gym to generate electricity for your nation?

The Terra Hale Gym, in London, uses eco-power spin bicycles to generate Watts. Michal Homola, the founder of the Terra Hale Gym, says that to gain muscle or lose weight, you must release energy, and this energy is not being harnessed. According to Michal, Terra Hale Gym envisions creating a more sustainable, brighter, and healthier exercising future.

A 50-minute spin cycle session of 10 people generates 1,500-3,000 Watts which can power a laptop for about half a day, support hairdryer usage for an hour, glow an incandescent bulb for a day. The gym users love it.

Ben MacSweeney, a gym user, says that there is nothing more fascinating than knowing that the power he is generating is going straight back to the national grid.

Amanda Frith, another gym user, says that it’s gratifying as well as being a challenge for yourself.

You will work up a sweat while creating energy too.

Terra Hale is London’s first human-powered gym using peddle power from spin bikes. After powering the gym, excess energy is fed to the grid to help power local businesses.

The gym is also decorated with recycled and eco-friendly materials; recycled furniture has been used, and recycled rubber was used for the flooring. The walls are covered with air-filtering plants and features made from reclaimed wood.
