Energy- Lets Save It

We waste a lot of energy spilling water while brushing, using led bulbs, spilling water while bathing, cleaning the house and doing everyday maintenance. It could be possible to save energy in all these areas by making simple changes that would improve life while still being cost-effective enough for you not make big financial impacts on your pocket especially if taken over a short term period of time, as opposed to just looking at little improvements like switching light bulbs or re-choosing products used on daily basis.

This energy wastage leads to rise in global temperatures which in turn leads to problems like land submergence, glaciation, etc. There are simple and reasonable changes you can do to reduce the amount of energy wastage we make in everyday life thus reducing global temperature rise as well.

Firstly, adoption of energy saving bulbs. Energy saving bulbs are those bulbs whose light output is around 40-50% or sometimes even lower than that of standard incandescent bulb. While these might not look as bright and warm as the traditional ones, they will be better in terms of energy saving and have equally long lifetime with respect to time period hours used for household lighting. Use these energy saving bulbs, in your kitchen, study area, bathroom; everywhere.

Washing clothes by hand rather than using a washing machine. And this saves a lot of electricity.

Turning off appliances when not in use. When one does so, it saves electricity as well as time having to be spent on turning these machines back on for every small activity you perform with them throughout your day.

Covering pans while cooking is another way of saving energy. Covering pans while cooking to avoid emitting the energy is a great way to save energy.

Adopting renewable energy like solar power, using the staircase instead of the lift, using public transport instead of using personal vehicles while going to work and switching the lights off when you go to sleep saves a lot of energy.
